From 2002 until 2014, Takashi Murakami (& Kaikai Kiki) organized a unique direct-participatory art fair called Geisai. It was held once per year in Japan and once per year in a different city, such as Taipei, or Miami. Rather than give space to pre-screened galleries, the fair allowed artists to create their own booths and interact directly with potential buyers. (wikipedia)

It was a celebration of art as GEISAI literally means = " art festival ".

Eva Mitala participated in Geisai#12, Geisai#13, Geisai#14, Geisai#15 which went online as New Day Geisai due to the 2011 earthquake, and Geisai#17 in 2012.

In her latest work entitled Wo-Man Eva Mitala presents a site – specific project comprising installation, sculpture and painting. Her work has mostly consisted of privately constructed worlds, often using domestic like and childlike imagination as a starting point for both the uncanny, the surreal and the comic.
