The exhibition navigates the blurred lines between fine art and craft.

In a world where cultural relativism shapes our understanding of artistic classification, the distinction between fine art and craft becomes a matter of interpretation. This exhibition dissects the notion of craft, examining its role in the creation of functional objects and its intersection with aesthetic values.

In this exhibition SCA presents a selection of works that challenge traditional hierarchies and question the inherent biases within the art world.

Neo Craft focuses on the diversity of artists based in the Bay Area and their practice, showing pieces meticulously crafted.

From utilitarian objects to conceptual installations, the exhibition highlights the convergence of form and function in contemporary art practice.

As viewers navigate through the gallery space, they are confronted with the complexities of materiality, technique, and intentionality inherent in each work. Through a minimalist lens, we invite contemplation on the intrinsic value of craftsmanship and its relationship to broader socio-cultural narratives, deconstructing the myth of the artist as sole creator, and instead, considering the collaborative nature of craft production in the modern era.
